Kentish Delights

Autumn 2010 til February 2011

Kentish Delights was an innovative new programme, inspired and led by Tunbridge Wells Museum and Art Gallery. Independent curators, Polly Harknett and Suzie Plumb, were the project managers and there was an education and outreach scheme run by Future Creative.

A diverse range of objects from over 30 museums across Kent – from ancient, rare and beautiful artefacts, to intriguing and entertaining items – toured the county. They were displayed in venues that do not usually host museum objects: supermarkets, football clubs, shopping centres, cinemas and pubs. The items chosen for Kentish Delights told stories about Kent and highlighted what is special and unique about this county. The content of the exhibition, which was complemented by film, a website and events, was developed in consultation with several museums and communities.
