LewesLight

LewesLight is a festival of light unlike any other. It is a festival with a theme, which celebrates the history of this fascinating ancient market town. The specially commissioned light installations, enhanced by poetry, performance and music, are by national and international designers from a wide variety of backgrounds. Each evocative artwork illustrates an aspect of the story. The Festival is also a showcase for the Production Arts, Digital Media Design, and Photography students at Sussex Downs College.

The Beeches Barcombe

Over the past 18 years, Sandy Coppen has created a most imaginative garden within the grounds of her home, The Beeches, an 18th century country house in East Sussex. She has also restored its, 300 year old walled garden to its former glory - recently the subject of a major timelapse documentary on BBC4.

The Gabo Trust for sculpture conservation

The Gabo Trust supports and promotes the conservation of modern and contemporary sculpture, internationally, through grants to professional conservators, post-graduate students of sculpture conservation, museums, galleries and other public collections. The Trust is governed by a small board of trustees, made up of the UK’s leading sculpture conservators, curators and Gabo family members.

The Noise Abatement Society John Connell Awards

The Noise Abatement Society (NAS) is a dynamic UK charity with an international impact. It raises awareness of measured, considered and responsible use of sound. NAS helps to find practical solutions to relieve the physical and mental distress caused by noise, which profoundly affect all aspects of life.

The John Connell Awards, named after the Society's far-sighted founder, acknowledge the importance of the quality of sound in our lives, and champion vital advances in noise reduction for the public benefit. They recognise local authorities, organisations, manufacturers and individuals.

The Secret Garden Kemptown

The Secret Garden, a registered UK charity, run by the Antony Dale Trust, is a unique facility for Brighton & Hove. It is the only garden of its type in the city, and the only place where major outdoor works of sculpture can be shown in a secure setting. It is a ‘secret’ oasis, because it is a delightful walled garden hidden from view, in the midst of suburban Kemp Town.

Wolfram Lohr

Wolfram Löhr designs and makes luxury leather accessories. These quality items are a pleasure to use and beautiful to behold. Ranges include handbags, belts, wallets, laptop and hunting bags in the finest leathers that stand the test of time, and mature with age. An imaginative combination of different coloured leathers, creating a special look, is a particular area of expertise. A bespoke service is available.

Tiki by Cecile Gilbert

Cecile Gilbert, who launched her Tiki range of jewellery in 2012, was selected as one of International Jewellery London's KickStarters of 2016. Her medium is polyester resin, which she combines with oxidised sterling silver.
