The Hanover Band

The Hanover Band has an international reputation for the excellence of its performances and recordings of 18th and 19th century music, and has performed throughout the world, from New York’s Carnegie Hall to Hampton Court Palace. Its list of guest directors over the years reads like a Who’s Who of period instrument interpretation: Monica Huggett, Sir Charles Mackerras, Roy Goodman, Anthony Halstead, Nicholas Mc Gegan, Andrew Manze, Richard Egarr, Nicholas Kraemer and Benjamin Bayl.

The Hanover Band’s impressive discography includes: an award-winning Beethoven cycle; Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor; Handel’s Serse; Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos; Bach’s Cantatas; Handel’s opera arias; Beethoven and Mozart violin concertos; Haydn symphonies; Boyce’s Ode for St. Cecilia’s Day, Secular Masque, David’s Lamentation over Saul and Jonathan; the acclaimed first complete period-instrument recording of the Schumann Symphonies; Sullivan’s Rose of Persia on period instruments; and Mozart - The Supreme Decorator, with Opera Rara.
